I’m not a Nurse or an Aesthetician—can I Still Train?
Our program is tailored specifically for nurses and aestheticians with an existing understanding of skin and scar anatomy. This background helps you dive into our fast-paced training and fully benefit from the techniques we teach. If you’re new to these concepts, however, this program may not be the best fit.
I’ve already invested so much in my nursing career. How does switching to paramedical tattooing benefit me?
Your nursing experience gives you a powerful advantage in paramedical tattooing. Skills like understanding skin anatomy and patient care are directly transferable, setting you up for success from day one. Yes, you’ll have plenty of support! During training, we provide hands-on practice, real-time feedback, and a starter kit with all the tools you’ll need. Our small class sizes mean you get one-on-one guidance, so you leave feeling ready. After training, you’ll continue to have support through our year-long mentorship, which includes monthly coaching calls and expert advice whenever questions or challenges come up. We’re here for you as you grow.
Is there enough demand for this work? I want to be sure I’ll have clients or job options when I finish training.
Yes, the demand is there and growing. More people are seeking paramedical tattooing for scars, stretch marks, and skin conditions that don’t respond well to creams or lasers. Our program gives you advanced skills to meet these needs, plus guidance on marketing and business development to help you attract clients and build a steady practice.
Is paramedical tattooing covered by insurance?
It depends.
For mastectomy areola tattoos, we often work with clients to help them get reimbursed by their insurance. However, they typically need to pay for the procedure out of pocket first, and then submit for reimbursement.
For scar revisions and camouflage tattooing, these services are generally considered “cosmetic” and are not covered by insurance. That said, we’ve had significant success in helping breast cancer survivors receive reimbursement for “medical micropigmentation” services at our practice.
Note: If you’re integrating scar camouflage services into an existing medical practice, billing insurance for these services may vary. It’s important to research the specific guidelines for your practice and location.
How stable is this as a career? Will there still be a need for these services long-term?
Yes, paramedical tattooing is a stable and growing field. With the rise in cosmetic and medical procedures, there’s steady demand for scar camouflage and related services. As long as people seek cosmetic enhancements and recover from medical procedures, there will be a need for paramedical tattooing, making this a reliable career choice.
Why Is your training program more expensive than others?
Our program is $9,750 for the entire year, compared to many 2–3 day “crash courses” priced at $4,500 or more. Here’s why our investment goes further

After I pay for training, will there be other costs, like equipment or certification fees?
There may be a few additional costs depending on your location and setup choices. Some states require specific licenses or certifications, which we’ll help you navigate with our licensing guide. And if you plan to rent a space or purchase extra equipment, those are optional costs we can help you plan for as you set up your business.
How soon after training can I expect to start working with clients?
Some graduates start seeing clients right away, while others take a bit longer to refine their skills. Our training includes hands-on practice to help you feel prepared, and our mentorship continues afterward, so you’ll have support as you gain real-world experience. With dedication, many students find themselves working confidently sooner than they expect.
I know it’s not the same as regular tattoos, but what makes paramedical tattooing different?
